A Wooded Glen

Alone she sits in a wooded glen
Collapsed on the damp ground of betrayal
Stripped naked by a silence that overwhelms

Memories fade from a past life gone
Embraced by the passion of her courtiers
Her ears caressed by loving words of comfort

Angst takes hold
She’ll love again
Her name is Friendship

Alone she sits in a wooded glen.

Several people have inquired about the meaning behind this poem. I certainly have my own story, but my hope is that everyone reading will find their own meaning in this poem by connecting with their own experience and emotions.

However, i will give you all one hint. To understand the meaning, start by exploring the meaning of the term “angst” in the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard.
