Since I first saw this story in the mid 2000s, I have been inspired by the life of Ben Coleman and what running meant to him.  His life, his coach, family and teammates remind me of both the power and purpose of being the Church of Jesus Christ.

Watch and ask yourself, “What can we learn from the life of Ben Coleman?”

  • Is your church a place of acceptance where everyone can belong?
  • Is your church a place where leaders keep you on the bench or can you get into the race?
  • What does the church give you that no other community can provide?
  • How do you invite others to participate in the life of your community?
