Post Show Notes

Friday’s conversation was a spirited discussion of sin and its influence on our life.  One important part of the discussion came when I suggested that while all sins are equal in their ability to separate us from God, not all sins are equal in nature.  To support my case, I mentioned three passages:

John 19:11 ESV
Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”
Hebrews 10:26 ESV
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
James 3:1 (ESV)
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Listen to the show and let me know what you think. Does God judge sins differently?
